Not every mango is meant to be overwhelmingly sweet. Some are cherished for their refreshing balance of sweetness and acidity, their versatility in the kitchen, and their ability to transform everything from juices and smoothies to salads and traditional recipes.
Totapuri Mango, one of South India's most celebrated mango varieties, is instantly recognizable by its elongated shape and characteristic pointed tip that resembles a parrot's beak. In fact, the name "Totapuri" comes from the Hindi word "Tota" meaning parrot.
At Sanesa Yourganic, our Organic Totapuri Mangoes come from a remarkable certified organic orchard in the Godavari region of Telangana, cultivated by a farmer whose dedication to natural farming is truly inspiring.
A former Information Technology professional, he chose a different path, one rooted in ecological stewardship and regenerative agriculture. His farm maintains its own gaushala not for commercial milk production but exclusively to prepare traditional natural farming formulations such as Jeevamrut, Ghan Jeevamrut, Panchagavya, and botanical plant-protection preparations. His philosophy is so deeply rooted in reverence for nature that he does not even use the cows' milk for personal consumption, believing cows should be cared for without expectation of return.
The orchard itself is uniquely blessed. A tributary of the mighty Godavari River flows through the farm, effectively dividing the orchard into two sections and continuously nourishing the soil with mineral-rich water. Combined with fertile alluvial soils, abundant biodiversity, and natural farming practices, this creates an environment that produces mangoes with exceptional flavor, texture, and character.
This is the same orchard from which we source several treasured varieties including Imam Pasand (Himayat), Banganapalli (Safeda/Benishan), Cheruku Rasalu, Chinna Rasalu, Pedda Rasalu, Telangana Alphonso, South Indian Dasheri, Langra, and even a native variety of Organic Sona Masuri Rice.
Unlike intensely sweet dessert mangoes, Totapuri offers a refreshing sweet-tangy flavor profile that appeals to those who enjoy a more balanced fruit experience. Its firm flesh, lower fiber content, and excellent pulp recovery have made it one of India's most widely used mangoes for fresh consumption, juices, smoothies, aam panna, shakes, desserts, and culinary applications.
