Long before modern hybrid rice varieties became common, villages along the fertile Yamuna Floodplains cultivated their own locally adapted rice varieties, carefully preserving seeds generation after generation.

Our Organic Heritage Red Choba Rice is one such traditional landrace. Grown on our own farm in the GI-tagged Basmati-growing region of the ancient Yamuna Floodplains, this rice has been remembered by local farming families as a staple since time immemorial.

Unlike highly polished commercial rice, Choba Rice is lightly milled, allowing delicate traces of its naturally reddish bran to remain. This not only gives the grain its distinctive appearance but also helps preserve flavor and valuable nutrients.

Once cooked, the grains become soft, pleasantly fluffy and mildly sweet with a comforting earthy character that pairs beautifully with dals, vegetables, curries and traditional North Indian meals.
