Across global citrus-growing regions, Malta-type red-tinged sweet oranges (historically grouped with Mediterranean Maltaise types) have long been regarded by citrus experts as among the finest non-navel sweet oranges in the world - valued for depth of flavor rather than cosmetic perfection.

On our farm in South Punjab, Maltas reach their prime in January-February, when cold winter nights trigger:
