Beautifully red, naturally juicy and packed with jewel-like arils, our Anaar / Pomegranate comes from the Sangli-Solapur region of Maharashtra, sourced directly from farmers practicing SPK-based natural farming.
This is the Bhagwa variety, one of Maharashtra's most widely cultivated and recognized pomegranate varieties. Developed as Phule Bhagwa, the variety was released in 2003-04 and has become dominant across major pomegranate-growing states because of its desirable fruit characteristics and good production performance.
Our farmers grow these pomegranates using SPK-based natural farming without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides or other synthetic agricultural chemicals, giving you a fruit that is genuinely organic and chemical-free. 🌱
The result is a beautifully colored pomegranate with deep-red arils, refreshing juiciness and a naturally sweet-tart flavor, delicious straight from the fruit, sprinkled over a salad or enjoyed as a refreshing juice.

The ICAR-National Research Centre on Pomegranate is based in Solapur, reflecting the importance of this region to India's pomegranate cultivation and research.
Pomegranate is a nutrient-rich fruit that combines natural fruit sugars with dietary fiber, minerals and a range of naturally occurring plant compounds.
Whole pomegranate arils provide dietary fiber, which contributes to normal digestive function and satiety. USDA data lists approximately 4 g of dietary fiber per 100 g of edible pomegranate.
Pomegranate naturally provides potassium, an essential mineral involved in normal muscle and nerve function.
Pomegranate contains vitamin C, although the amount can vary considerably with cultivar, growing conditions and maturity.
Pomegranate contains naturally occurring polyphenolic compounds, including anthocyanins and other phenolic compounds that contribute to its characteristic color and antioxidant activity.
Pomegranate arils contain a high proportion of water, making the fruit naturally juicy and refreshing.
Pomegranate contains naturally occurring sugars rather than added sugar. USDA data reports approximately 13.7 g of total sugars per 100 g of edible portion.
A note for health-conscious consumers: Pomegranate is naturally sweet and contains naturally occurring fruit sugars. Those managing carbohydrate or sugar intake should account for it within their overall diet.
Values are approximate and naturally vary with cultivar, maturity, growing conditions and harvest.
Bhagwa is not simply a name we use for our pomegranates. It is one of the most important commercial pomegranate varieties developed for Indian conditions.
Phule Bhagwa, released by Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, has been adopted across a large proportion of India's pomegranate-growing area because of its desirable fruit characteristics, yield and comparatively lower susceptibility to certain fruit spots and thrips.
For the consumer, that translates into what matters most: beautiful red fruit, attractive arils and a delicious fresh-eating experience. ❤️
Our Bhagwa pomegranates come from farmers practicing SPK (Subhash Palekar Natural Farming).
Rather than relying on synthetic agricultural chemicals, this approach is built around natural farm inputs, soil health, biodiversity and ecological processes. Current ICAR work on Subhash Palekar Natural Farming similarly describes its emphasis on soil health restoration, biodiversity and ecological balance.
For our farmers, this means growing the fruit without chemical fertilizers, pesticides and synthetic agricultural inputs.
That is why we are proud to bring you pomegranates that are:
🌱 100% Organic & Chemical-Free
Honestly?
The Bhagwa pomegranate is at its best when enjoyed fresh, allowing its natural sweetness, acidity and juiciness to shine.
But there are plenty of other delicious ways to enjoy it:
Tip: Refrigerate the fruit before eating if you enjoy your pomegranate particularly cool and refreshing.
Pomegranate's juicy red "seeds" are actually called arils.
Each aril is the juicy, edible covering surrounding a seed, which means that what you enjoy when you eat a pomegranate is technically the aril, not simply the seed itself. ❤️
And Bhagwa has an important place in Indian pomegranate history: the Phule Bhagwa variety was released in 2003-04 and has since become one of the dominant pomegranate varieties in Maharashtra and several other Indian states.
