    Did you know Spinach belongs to Bathua (Chenopodium) family? It is thought to have originated in Central-Western Asia and was introduced to India as Persian Vegetable. A winter vegetable, it is a rich source of Vitamins A, C, K, and of magnesium, manganese, iron and folate. Paalak has a heating affect on body and can cause bloating. It is thus recommended during winters when it is in-season and in optimum portion sizes.
