Apart from being revered for their colour, Red Potatoes are a bit more healthier than their yellow counterparts. These boast of a higher number of antioxidants, relatively fewer calories as well as higher potassium levels. However, like regular potatoes, red potatoes are also not recommended for diabetics, even though a majority of their carbohydrate content comes from resistant starch, making them healthier and a pre-biotic.

While potatoes are delicious and can definitely consumed if you’re on a diet (albeit in moderation), be sure to stay away from the oily, fried and fatty preparations as much as you can!
