Jaggery

Our sugarcane variety was notified in 1990s & it yields less but tastes better. It is relatively softer & easier to chew. We at Sanesa seldom care about yields – what matters is nutrition, taste and no chemicals. After all, yields might get you laughing but not happiness… Jaggery is as much about sugarcane as it is about preparation. Sugarcane adds to the flavor & preparation brings out texture. Interesting fact: Crystallized sugars are considered to have a cooling effect on the body while non-crystallized sugars have warming effect. Thus, Mishri, Khaand, Boora are known to be cooling sugars and Jaggery and Jaggery Powder are known to be warming sugars.
