Raw Unrefined Sugar prepared from Organic Sugarcane. Golden Sugar is slightly more micronutrient content than White Semi-refined Sugar while it has a shorter shelf life as most impurities are not washed out. Khaand is also coarser than Boora and has a more caramelly flavor. It is thus suitable for Indian sweets and desserts where a butterscotch-like crunch is required or where it dissolved completely with main ingredient in the process of preparation. Interesting fact: Crystallized sugars are considered to have a cooling effect on the body while non-crystallized sugars have warming effect. Thus, Mishri, Khaand, Boora are known to be cooling sugars and Jaggery and Jaggery Powder are known to be warming sugars.
